Outlook not responding error or Outlook freezes Outlook Microsoft Learn

As @ode2joy ​ said, clearing out the user’s profile usually works, which is a more thorough procedure than just deleting .nst and .ost files. When something goes wrong with Outlook, Microsoft restore Outlook Functionality recommends that we start it in Safe mode. Simply that Outlook will be loaded without your add-ins and customization files. Originally, the freezing would only occur when I actually tried to do something. So, if I tried to open a message, search my inbox, write a new email, go to the calendar, etc., it would freeze up for about 5-10 seconds at a time. The freezing never seemed to occur when I had Outlook open but was not using it.

Installing any important, recommended, and optional updates can often correct problems by replacing out-of-date files and fixing vulnerabilities. Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support. You can start Outlook in safe mode, disable your add-ins, and then try to open Outlook normally. Starting Outlook in safe mode, which starts Outlook without add-ins loaded, can tell you if an add-in is the source of the problem. If you can't open Outlook, or Outlook disappears or crashes, one of your add-ins may be to blame or you may need to update Outlook. Find solutions to common problems or get help from a support agent. This fix will clean up duplicate contacts for end users starting August 9, 2023. Rollout of the fix to all users will take few weeks, so, some users may see the fix applied by the end of September. If you can't find a dialog box open, move on to the next step.
